Gwen and Kevin

Gwen and Kevin’s wedding took place last fall at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst, MA. Yes, that Eric Carle, who wrote the Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and countless other children’s books we’ve become very familiar with since having kids. We LOVE photographing weddings at non-traditional venues, so jumped at the chance to work with them – their amazingly sweet and wonderful personalities also made this a no-brainer.

Gwen and Kevin planned on plenty of time for photos of just the two of them before their ceremony in the apple orchard at the museum. It’s always a bonus we have time to use a few different spots, and get to orchestrate the perfect First Look! We had a lot of fun walking around the grounds of the museum, and making the most of the animal sculptures and art.

This little girl was leaving the museum when Gwen arrived – she was so starstruck at seeing Gwen in her wedding dress, it was adorable!

I think I told her about a hundred times that day. The layers and structure were right up my alley – it’s gorgeous!MA wedding photographer

Having attended college over at UMass Amherst (a million years ago), I (Meg again) was well aware of how addictive and amazing these are. The doughnuts were still warm when they arrived at the museum, and it was all I could to do stop myself from running off with about 50 of them! (Seriously – you can order them online now. Do it. You’ll thank me later.)

Gwen & Kevin, thank you both for being so sweet and welcoming, and having that doughnut tower! Your wedding was just beautiful, and we are so glad we were there to capture it.

Allison and Scott

Allison & Scott were married on their family farm in Harvard, MA, in September. When I (Meg) met them last winter to talk about their wedding, I knew this was going to be a great wedding. Usually my client meetings are maybe an hour – we stayed chatting for about two hours! I left our meeting pretty excited at some of the details we’d talked about – I knew this was going to be a beautiful wedding. And I was right! Every time we turned around, we saw another great detail that fit in with their day and their personalities so well. They thought of everything!

This was honestly one of THE most fun weddings we’ve ever attended, as a photographer or a guest. Alli & Scott are just wonderful people, and downright hilarious.

Below are just a few of our favorites from their day.

Just keep an eye on the sky, we’ll get to those later. This ceremony location was just beautiful! This is their backyard.

Scott & Allison, your wedding was just wonderful, and we were honored to have been there to photograph it. It was the perfect day – full of love, laughter (LOTS of laughter!), and happiness. Thank you so much for being the gracious, kind and hilarious people you are. We wish you all the best!

Joni and Brian

Joni contacted us last fall about photographing her & Brian’s wedding. The minute she mentioned it was going to be in Amherst, MA, I (Meg) was in. I went to college in Amherst, and LOVE any chance to go back and visit the area. And Amherst in June, when their wedding was? Gorgeous. I was beyond thrilled when they told me they wanted me to do the wedding – more like ecstatic.

Joni & Brian were married at The Red Barn at Hampshire College, under a gorgeous tree outside in the beautiful Western MA air (I promise you, the air is just different out there. It’s better). The day was so sweet and lovely, and turned into quite the dance party at the end!

Below are some of my favorites from Joni & Brian’s gorgeous Western MA wedding at The Red Barn. As always comments, love, and questions – all much appreciated and welcome!

Joni & Brian got ready at the Hotel Northampton, just one floor apart from each other. They did not plan on doing a First Look, so Brian had to sneak past Joni’s windows when leaving for the ceremony so they wouldn’t see each other – it was too cute. I just loved Joni’s short Amsale dress – it looked gorgeous on her!

She took these two of a super calm groom – the guys always have fun getting ready!
